About

Hi, I'm Amanda! 👋 I'm a Senior Product Designer with a background in product development, engineering, and project management designing physical and digital products. I love breaking down messy problems, turning them into intuitive user experiences, and helping other designers think more strategically. I've mentored designers at different stages of their careers, and my favorite conversations are the ones where we turn uncertainty into a clear plan. Whether you're looking for actionable portfolio feedback, interview prep, help tackling a UX challenge, or guidance on growing your career, my goal is to make sure you leave every session with practical advice you can immediately put into practice.

How I can help

I'd love to help with portfolio reviews, UX case studies, product design, Figma, design systems, healthcare UX, interview preparation, imposter syndrome, career growth, or working effectively with product managers, engineers, and other cross-functional partners. Or just anything design-related!

Frequently asked

What's your mentoring style?

Friendly, collaborative, and practical. I want our sessions to feel like talking things through with a mentor who’s genuinely in your corner and also serves as your #1 cheerleader. I’ll ask questions, share candid feedback, and help you leave with concrete ideas or next steps you can actually use.

What are your strengths as a design mentor?

I enjoy breaking down problems, giving actionable design feedback, and helping people see the bigger picture behind their work. I’m also genuinely curious. I love asking questions, learning how things work, and exploring problems from different angles. I can help with everything from UX/UI and Figma to portfolios, case studies, career strategy, motivational mindset, and navigating cross-functional product teams. My engineering and project management background also gives me a technical and business-minded lens alongside my design perspective.

Why should I book a session with you?

I’ve taken a somewhat nontraditional path from engineering and product development into senior product design, so I bring perspectives from both the technical and design sides of building products. I’ve spent years designing complex, real-world products and working closely with engineers, PMs, researchers, and other stakeholders. But more than anything, I genuinely enjoy helping other designers grow. I’m an open book about my own experiences, and I want our sessions to feel comfortable, honest, and useful — like chatting with a designer friend who genuinely wants you to succeed.

Experience

  1. Senior Product Designer · MiniMed

    2026-present

I design digital experiences for people living with diabetes, working across mobile apps, connected devices, and complex therapy workflows. I lead UX on projects from early concept through development, partnering closely with product, engineering, human factors, clinical, and other cross-functional teams to turn complex requirements into experiences that feel simple and intuitive.

  2. Senior Product Designer · Medtronic

    2021-present

I worked on digital health products and features supporting diabetes management, taking projects through research, user flows, prototyping, testing, and detailed UI design. This is where I built a strong foundation in designing for complex systems, balancing user needs with technical and regulatory constraints, and collaborating closely with engineers.

  3. Project Manager - Consultant · BandGrip

    2021

I led cross-functional product development projects, bringing together user needs, business goals, and technical requirements. I worked across research, prototyping, testing, and product strategy, which gave me a broader understanding of how products move from an idea to something people can actually use.

  4. Engineering Project Manager · Elevate

    2020-2021

I led products from early concepts through development and launch, working across design, engineering, and business teams. I spent a lot of time understanding user needs, exploring and prototyping solutions, and translating ideas into products that were both intuitive and feasible to build.

  5. Product Design Engineer · Breg

    2017-2020

I designed and developed physical and connected products, working from early concepts through prototyping, testing, and production. This role introduced me to human-centered design and usability research, and ultimately sparked my interest in transitioning from engineering into product design.
