About

Over the last 15+ years I've designed and shipped highly impactful user-centered solutions across a myriad of industries, companies, and teams. And over that time, I've mentored and helped grow the careers of 100+ Designers world-wide. I focus on helping others remove blockers, work through challenges, become the best designer they can be, and ignite that spark that lives within us - all through practical, real world advice.

How I can help

I help designers build confidence, sharpen their craft, and navigate the messy middle of growing a design career. With 15+ years in product design across startups, enterprise, AI, fintech, health, cybersecurity, and consumer products, I’ve worked through a lot of the problems designers face: imposter syndrome, career pivots, unclear roles, messy product teams, design systems, stakeholder management, and being the first or only designer trying to create structure from scratch. What I can help with: • Breaking into or pivoting into product design • Building confidence and working through imposter syndrome • Becoming a stronger product thinker, not just a better screen designer • Building or improving design systems • Navigating startup ambiguity as a first or only designer • Presenting work, influencing stakeholders, and earning trust • Using AI and prototyping tools to move faster without losing craft • Growing from IC designer into lead, senior, staff, or player-coach roles Mentorship is valuable because design careers can feel vague from the inside. It’s hard to know what “good” looks like, what level you’re really operating at, or how to tell the story of your work. I help mentees zoom out, find the pattern, and turn uncertainty into a clearer path forward. My style is honest, practical, and encouraging. We can review your portfolio, talk through a career move, unpack a workplace challenge, strengthen a case study, or build a plan for your next level.

A hard problem I've navigated

At an early stage healthtech startup, I coached a visual designer to transition into product design. She already had strong craft and visual instincts, so our work focused on building product judgment. The shift was not just about learning new UX methods. It was about helping her move beyond visual polish into product thinking: understanding user problems, mapping flows, considering constraints, and explaining the “why” behind her decisions. The result was a more confident designer who could own the problem, not just the pixels. She's now the lead product designer at the company.
