How did I get into design
I have been quite active in the creative field even before I got into my engineering course. Over the course of four years I got to intern with a lot of incubation labs and companies in the campus, where I also went on to lead the design team for the student-led council for the college. In corporate, I got my break into design when a senior designer from our business unit in LTIMindtree decided to leave the organization. With my expressed interest in this field, a manager most actively recommended my name and that is how I got into design full-time
Do you review portfolios?
Yes. I have been reviewing a lot of portfolios for the last two years or so. I also mentor students offline in some of the design institutes in India to help them get better at portfolio, the storytelling part of it, how do you convey the message and how do you get the recruiter's attention in less than 30 seconds, all bits of it.
