How do I find a senior design role when there are so few of them?
Stop searching by title. Senior and staff roles are filled through referrals before they're posted, so the search is a positioning problem: decide the one problem you're known for solving, say it in your headline and first case study, and let people who hire for that problem find you. Applying cold at this level rarely works.
Ten years of experience in a generalist portfolio reads as "could do anything," which hiring managers translate as "not sure what for." Pick a lane: enterprise complexity, growth, design systems, 0 to 1, a domain like health or fintech. You can still do everything. The lane is how they remember you.
